Harvest Festival at Hollenback Community Garden
Saturday, September 23, 2017
11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Mark your calendars for Hollenback Community Garden's annual fundraising event. Meet the gardeners and take a tour, enjoy pizza from the grill, shop in the pop-up shop, or jam on the ukulele! There will be craft activities for kids, and a raffle to win prizes from local businesses.
We'll be selling pizza slices (made on the grill) that can be topped with herbs from the garden.
New and used books (donated by garden members); baked goods (baked by garden members); garden-sourced crafts: seed kits, potted succulents, smudge sticks, scented sachets (made by garden members)
Guests can enter to win prizes from a variety of businesses, including restaurant gift certificates, cooking classes, movie tickets, gift baskets, and more
The Clinton Hill Ukulele Social Club will swing by to play some tunes. They'll bring some extra ukes with them, so that anyone can join! All levels are welcome.
Kids of all ages can make their own seed heads to grow at home, plus seed shakers to use as musical instruments.
Hollenback gardeners will compete for Best Produce (tomatoes and more!), Best Preserves (jams, sauces, pickles!), and the Great Apple Bake-Off (using apples from our tree!)
The neighborhood block party will take place along Washington Avenue, between Gates Avenue and Greene Avenue. There will be live music, a DJ, food and snacks, plus various activities for kids, including a bounce house, face painting, a visit from the NYC Fire Department, and more!
